Alliance for Transformational Ministry (ATM) exists to encourage the expansion of transformational ministry worldwide, using Community Health Evangelism (CHE) and Neighborhood Transformation (NT). In addition to supporting the development of materials to train people in CHE and NT, ATM can also act as an incubator for US based non-profits using CHE and NT. Our approach is to allow organizations to associate under ATM.
Associates are American non-profit corporations that are doing CHE or NT and that want to come under the ATM umbrella. Associates are recognized by the IRS and allowed to use the ATM 501c3 for fund raising in the United States. ATM is set up and recognized by the IRS to be able to have affiliates in this manner (called fiscal sponsor). ATM does the bookkeeping, receipting and IRS reporting (like 990s) for the affiliate, in return for a small percentage (7%) of affiliate the revenue to cover the cost. Other benefits are available as well.
The benefits to the associate are they can use the ATM 501c3 without the cost and time needed to apply for their own from the IRS. They can focus on their mission instead of back office activities like bookkeeping and receipting. When a non-profit grows to a large enough size they can leave ATM association and get their own 501c3. But this allows ATM to act as an incubator for organizations doing CHE and NT and in so doing help grow the impact of these approaches on Gods Kingdom.
In order to become an associate, you need to be a non-profit organization incorporated in a state in the United States. You need to be using CHE or NT in your work. You need to apply for associate (see link below). Each year you need to provide a budget for the next year and a report for your progress and spending for the current year.
